About Us

Puerto Varas Tourism was founded by Cristobal Urrutia and Thais Moraes, a couple with over 19 years of experience in tourism. Passionate about nature and the landscapes of southern Chile, our goal is to showcase the charms of this region in a fun and professional manner, always paying close attention to our tourists and sharing interesting information about the history, culture, ecosystem, curiosities, and current events of each place we visit.

More than just tourist services, our aim is for our tourists to have an unforgettable experience.

Tours

Osorno Volcano, Petrohué Falls, and Lake Todos los Santos

  We depart from Puerto Varas towards the most visited attractions in the Lake District, visiting the Osorno Volcano, a beautiful sight.

Then we continue our tour to the Petrohué Falls, a lovely place where we will explore and observe the power of the Petrohué River.

Afterwards, we have lunch and continue to Lake Todos los Santos, where we will take a boat trip. It's a 40-minute ride on this emerald-colored lake, a unique place where, on a clear day, we can see the Osorno and Puntiagudo Volcanoes amidst a native forest.

Frutillar, Llanquihue, and Puerto Octay

We depart from Puerto Varas towards the town of Llanquihue, where we visit its waterfront before continuing along the shore of Lake Llanquihue to Frutillar. We stroll along the waterfront, visiting the main attractions: the Teatro del Lago (Lake Theater), the wooden pier, viewpoints, craft markets, and more.

We also offer some additional options:


- A 35-minute boat trip on Lake Llanquihue ($7,000)


- A guided tour inside the Teatro del Lago ($10,000)


- A visit to the German Museum ($3,500)


We have lunch in Frutillar and then continue along the lake, passing fields and enjoying beautiful views until we reach the town of Puerto Octay, the first town settled by Germans on Lake Llanquihue. We visit its main square and waterfront and learn a bit about the local culture.

Snow day

Live an adventure on Volcán Osorno, we take you from Puerto Varas to this majestic icon of the region to enjoy a unique experience surrounded by incredible landscapes.

We left at 9am from Puerto Varas and returned at 4pm from Volcán Osorno.

Ideal for families, couples or adventurers who want to spend the day in the mountains and experience a snowy day.

Once at the ski and mountain center you can choose how to enjoy your day with our optional activities (prices not included):


- Trekking with Snow Snowshoes: ($12,000) includes snowshoes, poles and guided tour between the snowy forest and Volcano cliffs for 1 hour on average) 


- Snow slides: ($ to be confirmed at the ski center)


- Telephone ride: ($23,000) 1 trip back and forth


- Ski or Snowboard: ($ to be confirmed at ski center)


*This tour will only take place on days that the conditions of the route and climate of the ski center allow it, so we will notify you in advance via our Instagram (you CANNOT book in advance)

Puerto Varas City Tour and Angelmó Market

We begin in Puerto Varas with a stroll along its waterfront to see the iconic Likanrayen statue, a symbol of local identity. We continue with a walk through Philippi Park, surrounded by nature and viewpoints, before visiting the historic Kuschel House. We'll descend the traditional Ricke Staircase to the city center, where we'll explore the Plaza de Armas and its surrounding heritage.

Next, we'll visit the Flowered Shield and the Pablo Fierro Museum, two must-see attractions where you'll have time to stop, take photos, and learn about their history. We'll explore residential neighborhoods that reflect the German heritage and conclude our time in Puerto Varas at the Sacred Hearts Church, one of the city's architectural icons.

Afterward, we travel along the Pan-American Highway toward Puerto Montt to visit the traditional Angelmó Market, renowned for its crafts, cuisine, and local atmosphere, ending the tour on the waterfront.

Termas del Sol and Cochamó

We depart from Puerto Varas towards the beautiful Termas del Sol, a hot springs paradise nestled between a valley and native forest. 

The complex boasts 10 pools with temperatures ranging from 36 to 45 degrees Celsius, a thermal mud bath area, accessible pathways, a cafeteria, and a beautiful design. We'll enjoy this paradise for 4 hours, then have lunch and continue on to the village of Cochamó. 

There, we'll stroll along its lovely waterfront on the Reloncaví Estuary, where on sunny days we can see the imposing Yates Volcano.

Cochamó Hot Springs and Cochamó

  We depart from Puerto Varas towards the Cochamó Hot Springs, located on the banks of the Reloncaví Estuary in a beautiful natural setting, just 1 hour and 20 minutes away. 

We enjoy the hot springs for 4 hours before exploring the Cochamó waterfront, also on the banks of the Reloncaví Estuary, where on sunny days we can admire the Yates Volcano.

Frutillar and Cancagua Biopools

  We depart from Puerto Varas towards the city of Llanquihue, where we visit its waterfront before continuing along the shores of Lake Llanquihue towards Frutillar.

We stroll along the waterfront, visiting its main attractions. We also offer some additional options*:

Afterwards, we have lunch and then go to enjoy the Cancagua Biopools, on the shores of Lake Llanquihue. These are the world's first sustainably designed heated pools. The water circulates to a regeneration zone, using plants and ecological systems to clean the water, leaving it crystal clear.

Swings and Cochamó

  We depart from Puerto Varas towards Cochamó, a beautiful town located on the Reloncaví Estuary. Along the way, we make several stops to enjoy the unique natural surroundings (suspension bridge, viewpoints, riverbank, and forest).

Then we continue to the town of Cochamó, where we stroll along its lovely waterfront.

Afterwards, we have lunch and then go to enjoy the swings and their beautiful views.

Alerce Andino National Park

In Alerce Andino National Park, we hike through a lush, green, and humid forest, enjoying waterfalls, rivers, springs, hundreds of trees, and the famous ancient alerce tree, over 2,500 years old.


- From April to September: We take a 9 km (round trip) hike in the park to the ancient alerce tree.

The trail is almost entirely flat, making it suitable for families.


- From December to March (high difficulty): We enjoy a 19 km (round trip) hike with significant uphill sections to reach Laguna Triángulo (Triangle Lagoon).

  

  • Includes: Transportation, guided trekking, and trekking poles (We recommend bringing snacks).
  • Tour Duration: 7 hours
  • Does not include: Entrance fee to the ancient alerce tree ($8,200 CLP per person) and lunch.

Hot Tubs in Aremko

  Aremko is a beautiful place, located on the banks of the river, nestled within the native forest, ideal for relaxing and enjoying nature. 

We enjoyed two hours in one of its hot tubs in a unique natural setting. This activity is also ideal for rainy days and half-day excursions.

Departures in the morning, afternoon, and evening, just 30 minutes from Puerto Varas. (A massage can also be added.)

Petrohué River Rafting

AM and PM departures from Puerto Varas to Ensenada, where we'll get equipped with neoprene wetsuits and boots, waterproof jackets, life jackets, and helmets.

After a safety briefing, we'll begin our descent on the beautiful Petrohué River, enjoying approximately one hour of adventure with unforgettable scenery.

After rafting, we'll return to the base for a delicious snack

1 or 2 people: $25,000 each way

3 or more people: $10,000 per person each way

Prices are for arrivals or departures between 6:00 AM and 11:59 PM.

A $5,000 surcharge applies for arrivals or departures between 12:00 AM and 5:59 AM.

Additional Information

  - Prices: Prices are per person (children up to 2 years old are free, children 2 to 6 years old pay 50% of the price).


- Schedule: Tours depart between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. We will pick you up from your accommodation within the central region of Puerto Varas, except for the rafting tour.


- Reservation: A 50% deposit (bank transfer) is required to reserve your tour. The remaining 50% is due on the first day of the tour (cash or bank transfer).

For the rafting, hot tubs in Aremko, and transfer packages, 100% payment is required to reserve your tour.

The order of the reserved tours may be modified according to the agency's needs.


- Cancellation: A 100% refund will be issued for cancellations made up to 72 hours before the tour departure time. Cancellations made after this time will not be refunded.
